How it works:
- bargainout is a feature of dineoutemirates.com which offers restaurant gift vouchers for members to buy.
- bargainout will be using the reverse bargain process in which the winner is the person who has the ‘Lowest Unique Price’.
- A maximum and minimum limit is set: The bargain offers cannot go higher or lower than the maximum and minimum limits set for each item.
For e.g., the lowest bargain price could be set at AED 1 and you cannot make an offer lower than that. - The maximum price to submit for each voucher could be AED 400 (whatever the actual value of the voucher is). You cannot exceed that. Member’s offers have to be within this range.
How is the Lowest Unique Price determined?
- The ‘Lowest Unique Price’ is an amount between the minimum starting point, for e.g., AED 1 (lowest) and the maximum, for e.g., AED 400 (which is the actual value of the voucher), indicated for each voucher.
- The amount nearest or closest to AED 1 where no other member has offered the same amount is considered the ‘Lowest Unique Price’.
- Example of a possible result at the end of the Lowest Unique Price
Member 1 |
AED 1 |
Not unique price |
Member 2 |
AED 1 |
Not unique price |
Member 3 |
AED 3 |
Not unique price |
Member 4 |
AED 3 |
Not unique price |
Member 5 |
AED 2 |
Lowest Unique Price |
Member 6 |
AED 4 |
Unique price but not the lowest |
Member 7 |
AED 5 |
Unique price but not the lowest |
For example if the results above were for an item with the following details:
Voucher number |
14344 |
Value |
AED 400 |
Lowest price starts |
AED 1 |
Closing date and time |
9 am, 20 Sept, 2009 |
Max # bids per member: |
Unlimited |
- In the example above, member 5 has submitted the Lowest Unique Price and is awarded the bargainout voucher after paying only the price he or she submitted for it (AED 2 only).
- Please note that up until the deadline when the bargain closes the Lowest Unique Price will change constantly as people can keep on trying with different offers.
- There is no limit to the number of submissions per person. If you find that your offer does not show up as the Lowest Unique Price you can keep trying at different times till you achieve that.
- If in this example two or more people submit AED 1, then AED 1 would no longer be a unique bid.
- Instead the next lowest price which is submitted by just one person and no one else has made a similar offer would now become the Lowest Unique Price. In the sample above it is member 5’s submission.
- Please also note that if at the close of the bargain we don't have a single Lowest Unique Price the successful member would be determined by the two lowest exact same submitted prices. However the member awarded the item would be the member who submitted the price first.
Payment:
- Several payment options will be available: cash and online*
* Secure online payment through credit card or bank will be available soon - Successful members can pay in cash on delivery of the bargainout voucher. Cheques will not be accepted.
- Should the successful member fail to collect and pay for the product /service within 30 days of the closing date then the right to purchase the product or service at the Successful Unique Price will be forfeited.
- The right to purchase the product or service will then be offered to the 2nd Lowest Unique Price.
- Although results are usually automatic, there may be a period of up to 72 working hours from the closing deadline until the bargainout results are announced. This period is to allow for the reconciliation of bids and the auditing of results, if required.
